Since the present democratic dispensation, Owerri west LGA, like other local government areas in Imo state, has always sent representatives to the state House of Assembly with the expectation of improved life for the people of the constituency. The reality on ground today is that Owerri west LGA is one of the council areas in dire need of quality representation. Quality representation is synonymous with quality leadership, hence the clamour in the constituency for a genuine leader that would surely attract democracy dividends to the people – a selfless leader wth empathy and credibility to deliver as expected. This is obviously why the call on Prince Osinachi Amako by virtually all sections of the people of Owerri west to, as an act of patriotism, join the race for the forthcoming House of Assembly election. Presently the Vice Chairman of Owerri west LGA, Prince Osinachi Amako hails from Irete community and ward 10 of the LGA. Popularly called “No Vex” by friends and admirers- obviously due to his friendly and positive disposition and approach to life- Prince Osinachi Amako is a youth who understands the challenges facing his fellow youth in the constituency. As a private person full of empathy for the youth, he has over the years, organized digital skill empowerment programmes for Owerri west youth with free laptops and other ICT equipment freely given out. Prince Osinachi Amako has severally assisted the indigent and downtrodden to start small businesses. Today, many of the beneficiaries of his various empowerment programmes are no more in the poverty ring of the society.
Prince Osinachi Amako is a leader in the true sense of the word. He is a young man of integrity and accountability who respects elders and those in authority. Having traversed virtually all the roads and communities of Owerri west LGA, Prince Amako has a first hand knowledge of the needs and challenges facing his people of Owerri west LGA.
Apart from his leadership skills and intense desire to improve the quality of life of the people of Owerri west, Prince Osinachi Amako is also favoured in that his political bloc, Umunwoha, is the zone to produce the next House of Assembly member for Owerri west LGA. Umunwoha compromises the communities of Irete, Orogwe, Ohii, Ndegwu and Amakohia- Ubi. In the scheme of things in the local government, Umunwoha bloc has, over the years, played a major role in enhancing the political stability of Owerri west LGA by supporting candidates of other blocs to win the House of Assembly election. Now that the people, leaders and stakeholders of the council area have decided that Umunwoha bloc should produce the next House of Assembly member, it is obvious that Prince Osinachi Amako is the best aspirant or candidate. Amako is a contented young entrepreneur with a dream of making Owerri west LGA a master piece in the comity of LGAs in the state. He is a builder and developer of people who believes that economic empowerment of the youth is necessary to help solve many of the social vices now challenging our communities. This philosophy has enabled him to use his office as Vice Chairman of Owerri west LGA to improve the quality of the lives of the youth and others within his LGA.
Owerri west LGA will get it right this time. With Prince Amako Owerri west LGA will surely have a good voice in the next House of Assembly of our dear state.
